Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs is planning to make a trip to Turkey this week in an effort to acquire the UEFA Pro Licence coaching badge.
According to reports in the Times, the Welshman signed a new contract in March which will extend his playing career by at least a year.
Giggs, 39, who has spent his entire professional football career with the United, has already gained his UEFA A and B licenses and is now working n his coaching qualifications.
If he intends to pursue a career in coaching a football team in Europe’s top divisions or the Champions League, then he will have to acquire the UEFA Pro License.
Having already taken part in some coaching duties under former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson last season, Giggs is hoping to reprise that role under new manager David Moyes after attending a course in Turkey also featuring such participants as Gary Neville and Paul Ince.
