The AIFF , Indian Hockey Federation, BCCI , The Commonwealth games organization all of the country’s top sports bodies are nothing but chaotic and dysfunctional committees which are governed by old men who are interested only in advancing their own agendas and interests and of course filling their bank accounts with hordes of money. endless no. of failures, errors and crime have brought this country shame and utter humiliation for much time now. it is as if people no longer care for sports or the respect and patriotism it buys but only as an opportunity to cash in the money and let the country’s respect rot, after all what does patriotism and winning mean to anyone nowadays. i don’t want to cause more shame by naming some of the incidents which are causing me to write this article as i believe most of you would know what i’m talking about but here’s a name of the biggest criminal in Indian sports history and i’m sure this would ring anyone’s bell SURESH KALMADI.
Leave money alone the way our federations and committees treat their respective athletes itself is a sign of how good they’re doing. how can we expect athletes to perform well when they are made to live and train in those conditions which look no less than torture for a human being. hats off to everyone who has won a medal and performed well even after surviving those conditions. they are denied entry in their own stadiums and given third class gear and then they are expected to perform as well as the Chinese. no wonder the Indian hockey team had a strike, it was bound to be and i’m sure more will follow. Old men refuse to give up their seats fully knowing they are not up to the task and in doing so removing any chances of letting us see a change. Cricket is given full support and loads of money while there is not enough cash for the national sports of India or it’s athletes. every national sport in another country has a world class league of it’s own it’s only here that we don’t have enough money to even advertise hockey. just shows the kind of politics played in every department of Indian sports organization. a kid who wants to be a footballer is urged by his parents to play cricket instead after all money is where cricket is .
It is time we step up and demand a change and let India advance in the field of sports and become a global force known throughout the world and this can only be possible when our sports organization start functioning well and every individual of it puts sports first and himself last. only then will we achieve TRUE VICTORY
