Inter thrash Bari to go top in the Italian Serie A

Samuel Eto'o, Diego Milito

Inter Milan scored a resounding 4-0 win over Bari to move to the top spot in the Italian Serie A. Diego Milito scored for the first time this season as he along with Samuel Eto completed a brace to give Inter a convincing victory. Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder went close in the early stages, and the opening goal was due when Inter’s front two combined to devastating effect. Eto’o surged into the penalty area from the left flank and crossed for Milito to head into the top left corner. He himself then scored from the two penalties Inter were awarded before Milito completed the rout.

In other matches AC Milan threw a 1-0 lead to draw against Lazio. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on target for Milan as they drew their second straight game. Ibrahimovic scored from a Clarence Seedorf’s pass in the 66th minute as he struck the ball past Muslera to put his team in front. The prescence of Robinho and Ronaldinho failed to inspire the Rossoneri and they failed to produce the winner. Milan currently languishes at 8th place in the standings.

Juventus suffered a setback when they went down 3-1 to Palermo. In one of their worst starts to the season Juventus have lost twice in their four games and have drawn once.

Newly-promoted Cesena missed the chance to go level at the top of the Serie A table after they suffered their first defeat back in the Italian top flight at Catania. Hernan Crespo’s second-half strike salvaged a point for Parma in a 1-1 draw at Lecce. Roma missed the services of Totti to go down 2-1 to Brescia.
