Thurman, holding a record of 26-0 with 22 knockouts, will make the second defence of the title he won last March by beating compatriot Robert Guerrero with a unanimous decision. Thurman beat US boxer Luis Collazo after seven rounds last July in his first title defence.
Porter, former International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight title holder, has a 26-1-1 record with 16 knockouts.
