Dirk Kuyt, Fabio Aurelio and Maxi Rodriguez (Liverpool FC to Unspecified)
Yep. It seems like a mass clear-out will happen in this coming summer transfer window. This one, though, won’t affect Liverpool FC too much unlike past summer transfer windows which have seen us lose the likes of Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano and Raul Meireles. According to the papers, or at least The Times , Liverpool FC are set to retain the core of the Liverpool FC first XI, whilst clearing out the likes of bench warmers in Dirk Kuyt, Fabio Aurelio and Maxi Rodriguez.
Can’t help but admit that despite all the three players being splendid servants to the club, we have to let them go. Their age is catching up with them and in terms of wages, they’re quite a burden on the wage bill (Dirk Kuyt in particular, on a hefty 70k a week).
Tonny Trindade de Vilhena (Feyenoord to Liverpool FC)
Yes. Feyenoord. Liverpool FC are apparently intent on replacing their Dutch striker from Feyernoord in Dirk Kuyt whilst bringing in a fresher, younger attacking option in Tonny Trindade. So let me try and break this down to you. He is 17 years of age, he operates as a central midfielder, or as an attacking central midfielder to be more specific, and he is touted as the next big star in Dutch football.
He won the U17 European Championships with Holland last year and apparently is one of Liverpool’s top targets for the summer. This is all according to The Daily Telegraph. Done some research, and I think that, him being so young, he can be bought of the Dutch side for a fee of around 200k.
Moussa Dembele (Fulham to Liverpool FC)
Our last transfer story of the week comes from Caughtoffside and it reads that Liverpool are interested in Fulham forward Moussa Dembele. To me, this would be good for Liverpool FC. He’s a younger but a more versatile version of Dirk Kuyt. He has been good with his link up play with fellow Fulham strikers, along with finishing off moves with decent strikes from out of the box but I can’t help but view this as a very odd target for Liverpool.
