Real Madrid will look to bounce back from their defeat to Bayern Munich at the Aiilanz Arena. Having defeated Barcelona in the El Classico, this is another opportunity for them to prove their worth.
It has been a tough week for Jose’s men. A Classico sandwiched between two Champions League matches Against Bayern. The German giants play with a similar formation. Their strength is their flanks. Arjen Robben and Ribery could run the defence ragged or provide a pin-point cross. They too counter attack like Real Madrid. Moreover, they are managed by a former Madrid coach, Jupp Heynckes.
The advantage for Real Madrid this time will be the crowd around them because this match is scheduled at the Bernabeu.
Jose has no injury problems expect for Ricardo Carvalho. Bayern Munich are yet to officially announce their injured players. Jose could rest Ozil and bring in Kaka. He could also prefer Marcelo to Coentrao.
Here is the probable line up:
Real Madrid:
Casillas;
Arbeloa, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo;
Alonso, Khedira;
Di Maria, Kaka, Ronaldo;
Higuain
Bayern Munich:
Manuel Neuer;
Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba;
Kroos, Schweinsteiger;
Robben,Muller, Ribery;
Gomez.
Jupp Heynckes could bring in Muller after an impressive show in the first leg. He also has Mario Gomez, who is second highest scorer in the Champions League with 13 goals, just one less than Lionel Messi‘s 14. Bayern have already lost the Bundesliga title. They would surely want to win this.
Jose Mouriho would like his defenders to continue to work like they did against Barcelona as defensive errors cost them the first leg. He would also hope that his players don’t suffer from fatigue. Mourinho’s men must win the match if they would like to enter the finals. A draw or a loss would mean Bayern playing Chelsea or Barcelona in the finals.
We could witness yet another Classico.
