It’s finally over! The 2015 National Games saw no surprise at the top of the table as Services secured a landslide victory amassing 91 gold medals. They finished 37 gold medals ahead of second placed Kerala. Haryana finished off a successful campaign in third position winning 39 gold medals.
In the individual medals tally, Sajan Prakash rounded off an impressive tournament with six gold medals. Andaman and Nicobar islands Rajina Kiro highlighted the growth of Andaman and Nicobar Islands as a major sporting state by winning five gold medals.
States such as West Bengal and Delhi failed to impress finishing outside the top 15.

Athletics
Tintu Lukka set a meet record in the Women’s 800m event as she went onto secure the gold medal with a timing of 02:01:86. Tamil Nadus Gomathi won the silver medal and the bronze medal went to Sini Marcose from Kerala.
Kerala won the gold medal in the Men’s 800m as well, through Sajeesh Joseph. Jinson Johnson from Services settled for silver and Muhammed Afsal from Kerala.
Navjit Kaur won gold in the Women’s Discus with a distance of 50.52m. Haryanas Sandeep Kumari won silver and Praveen Kumari from Rajasthan won the bronze medal.
Cycling
Kezia Verghese from Kerala won gold in the women’s keirin elite category ahead of Rajani V from Kerala and Lidiyamol Sunny.
Amrit Singh won gold in the Men’s keirin section, followed by Karanveer Singh from Haryana and Alan Baby from the Services.
Punjab won the Men’s Team Sprint ahead of Haryana and the Services. The Womens section saw Kerala win gold, Andaman and Nicobar won silver and Manipur settled for bronze.
