New Blue Flag Competition!

Once again, Chelsea supporters are being asked to show off their artistic skills and come up with ideas for a new flag that will be put on show preceding specific home matches. The creator of the design chosen will win two tickets to a game of his or her choice at Stamford Bridge.

Currently, supporters in the Matthew Harding Stand participate in the build-up to games at Stamford Bridge by way of displaying overhead banners in both the upper and lower tiers. The new flag which will be put on show for big matches only but, nevertheless, will hopefully become as big a partof the pre-match ritual as the two standards mentioned above.

The Blue ‘Pride of London’ Flag was prominent in Munich prior to Chelsea’s appearance in the Champions League Final against Bayern and, as well as showing the world who, exactly, it represents, the flag always seems to give supporters a boost and undoubtedly helps to add to the pre-match atmosphere.

Those taking part should note that designs must be of a good standard and in jpeg format and sent by email to [email protected]. Mark your emails ‘Flag Competition’. The deadline for entries is July 15th. No correspondence regarding the winning design will be entered into.
