The 38th edition of the National Games is all set to begin in the state of Uttarakhand on January 28, 2025. The official logo and theme song of the National Games were unveiled by Union Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse at a function in Dehradun on December 15.
The occasion also witnessed the official jersey and mascot for the upcoming competition being revealed in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Indian Olympic Association president PT Usha, who was also present during the event, announced that yoga and mallakhamb will now find a place in the National Games.
The mascot for the event named Mouli has been inspired by the Monal which is a Himalayan pheasant, the state bird of Uttarakhand.
The anthem for the event and the tagline "Sankalp se Shikhar Tak" (from resolution to zenith) were also made public in the program which was held at the Maharana Pratap Sports College.
The official logo, according to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, displays the diverse colors of Uttarakhand to the rest of the country.
The state government has reportedly made a provision of ₹500 crore for infrastructure facilities which will ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming event.
Athletics, Aquatics, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Cycling Fencing, Football Golf Gymnastics, Handball (Indoor and Beach), Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi (Indoor and Beach) and Kho Kho are some of the disciplines that are part of the Games.
Modern Pentathlon, Netball, Rowing, Rugby, Shooting, Tennis Taekwondo Tennis Triathlon Volleyball (Indoor & Beach) Weightlifting, Wrestling, and Wushu will also feature in the event.

During the unveiling of the logo, mascot, and anthem for the 38th National Games, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stressed that it was a "historic day" in the sports history of Uttarakhand.
While thanking the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving the state the opportunity to host the competition, Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the logo showcased the diverse facets of the state.
"Today is a historic day for all of us in Uttarakhand's sports history. We are unveiling the mascot, anthem, logo, tagline, and jersey. On behalf of all the people of Uttarakhand, I extend my heartfelt thanks to PM Modi for giving us the opportunity to organize this event," the Chief Minister said.
"The logo we have launched today showcases the diverse facets of Uttarakhand to the nation, and the anthem not only reflects our unity but also inspires out players and youth to strive harder," he added.
The National Games will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun from January 28 to February 14.
