During the Indian Open Athletics International Championships in Bengaluru in May this year, Sumit Antil bettered his Tokyo Paralympics performance with a 70.17m throw.
Antil, who hails from Haryana's Sonipat district, was keen to become a wrestler, inspired by Yogeshwar Dutt's success. However, a tragic accident crushed his dreams but destiny had its own way of rewarding for dedication towards sports.
Rajkumar, a para athlete in the same village, introduced Antil para sports and rest is the history. He added the continental medal to his paralympics and world success.
