Sportskeeda caught up with Sunil Chhetri on the sidelines of the event, who spoke about the importance of fitness and walking in one's life.

He batted for the importance of fitness, giving the example of his parents who engage in walking and are seeing its benefits.

"Tough to give a general message since you don’t know where everyone is in their fitness journey. Walking can be done by everyone, even if you’re under the weather or age isn’t on your side. We need to make fitness a way of life. My parents also walk and they are seeing the benefits of it," Chhetri said.

The 40-year-old former Indian captain also spoke about how he's trying his best to maintain fitness levels and also added that he's been making time for his family after he and his wife, Sonam, welcomed their son last year.

"My profession binds me, forces me and curses me to be fit all the time. I’m trying my best. As I get older I’m trying to focus on things other than professional commitments too. Was blessed with a baby last year so spending time with him and the family," Chhetri added.
