Supercopa returns to Bernabeu:
Thanks to the Valdes’ howler in the first leg Los Merengues defeated their friendly rivals 2-1 at Bernabeu to win the Super Copa 2012. It was Valdes’ howler in the first leg that gifted Real Madrid the precious second away goal, and it was because of this second away goal the tie turned into Los Blancos favour with the two legs finishing at 3-3. With this victory, first silverware of the new season is now comfortably sitting in the trophy cabinet and pleasing Florentino Perez’ eyes day in day out. The match consisted of a poacher goal by Gonzalo Higuain, a calm-all goal by Cristiano Ronaldo and an extraordinary left footed free-kick goal by Lionel Messi.
El Pirata’ ship is now docked at Rangers’ harbor:
Surely a shocker for all the Madridista and the only thorn that hampered the Supercopa celebrations at Bernabeu. The shocker being a €8m transfer of much adored Real Madrid player Esteban Granero to Queens Park Rangers in England. News started to surface in Spain on the day of second-leg of Supercopa that Granero was edging closer to a move to Tony Fernandes’ QPR, but for all true Madridistas it was declared as nothing but a rumour. It actually looked like a rumour when news of him already being in London was squashed when Granero was seen celebrating with the side after the crucial El Clasico win at Santiago Bernabeu. Sadly that rumour soon turned into a cruel reality when QPR’ official twitter account confirmed the transfer news. Soon the beloved Canterano was wearing that blue-white hoops and was now a part of Mark Hughes’ project at Loftus road. After leaving his much loved club, tears flowed from all his fans when he posted pics of his Real Madrid days from his personal account. The only silver lining of this transfer is that like the Getafe contract, this transfer contract also consists of a buy-back clause to bring ‘The Pirate’ back home.
CR7 is sad:
This news in Spain is tastier than Dani Alves possible hookup with Bar Refaeli or Balotelli coming up with another of his childish antics. It is so tasty that journalists and media guys have come up with so many theories that it can fill up Marca and AS for whole of the international break. During the match against Granada, which happened to be defending champion’s first win in La Liga this season, Crisitiano Ronaldo didn’t celebrate either of his two goals. When asked about not celebrating his goals, CR7 confessed he was sad with respect to some club related professional issue, and that my friend was the cue for the journalists to start building their conspiracy theories. Theories include,
- Real Madrid not backing Coentrao during his ban due to his abusive remarks against the ref which supposedly he didn’t even make
- CR7 is set to leave for PSG
- CR7 being sad that Granero had to leave
With arms wide open:
Real Madrid’ two summer signings Luka Modric and Michael Essien have been welcomed to the club with arms wide open. The players and management are very happy with the Croatian and Ghanian international joining Los Blancos. As for Essien he has actually welcomed Real Madrid into his life because for him joining Daddy Mou after a long time was more than enough reason for him to be part of Madrid’ 2012-13 campaign. Modric has already learned Ramos’ thumbs-up pose for photographs and was also lifted up and given a bear hug by Pepe during CR7 first goal celebration.
