Renjith crashes out of Men's triple jump

Renjith Maheshwary crashed out of the Men’s triple jump on Tuesday.

India’s lone participant in the triple jump event, Renjith Maheshwary, crashed out of the event on Tuesday after failing to set a mark in any of his three attempts.

The qualifying mark for the event was 17.1 m but Renjith never even came close to the mark, fouling all three of his attempts.

Even a lower score might have got him through (best 12 participants go through to finals if all do not achieve qualifying mark), and considering his national record of 17.07 m, this was within his grasp.

However, Renjith succumbed to the pressure and bowed out of the event tamely.
