Hello everyone! It’s Wednesday night again, and that means we are back with the SportsKeeda Weekly Quiz! So, ready for the next set of 5 questions?
But before we begin, it’s time to give out the answers to last week’s questions. So here they are:
SportsKeeda Weekly Quiz 1 – Answers
Ans 1) Yograj Singh, father of Yuvraj Singh
Ans 2) Eoin Morgan – was run out for 99 in his ODI debut against Scotland.
Ans 3) The only players to be given out “obstructing the field” in international matches. Rameez Raja (vs England in 1987), Mohinder Amarnath (vs Sri Lanka in 1989) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (vs India in 2006) have all done it in ODIs. The only person to do so in a test match was Sir Len Hutton (vs South Africa in 1951).
Ans 4) Ramakant Achrekar.
Ans 5) To support the Jane McGrath Cancer Foundation.
So that brings us to this week’s quiz. And as promised, this time it indeed is a mixed bag. Happy Quizzing folks, and remember quizzers: Googling is injurious to health! :P
SportsKeeda Weekly Quiz 2
Q1) Again, an easy one to start. See the photo below and identify this legendary athlete, as well as the event that is shown in the photograph.
Q2) “There are things that just don’t have any good explanation” he said. “I suppose you could say that if it had been a really nice animal, something sympathetic, then maybe nothing would have happened. Suppose I had picked a rooster. Well, that’s French, but it doesn’t have the same impact.” Identify the former tennis great who said this in a 1973 interview with The Associated Press.
Q3) This talented spinner made his test debut for India quite late in his career, and went on to feature in 33 tests and 15 ODIs. In fact he is one of just two test bowlers in the world to have made their debut after the age of 30 and yet to have 100 plus test wickets. He is currently the Managing Director of Entrack India, a firm that markets Montblanc pens in India. His son, currently active in the IPL, has played first class cricket for Saurashtra, Derbyshire and Surrey. Identify.
Q4) A visual again. What connects the 3 sportspersons shown in the photo?
Q5) A relatively simple question to round off this edition of the quiz.
X, born in Calcutta, was an Olympic medallist, and is also credited with the first ever hattrick in an open football tournament in India.
