Stage is set for Run Kerala Run; Sachin to participate

Thiruvananthapuram; 16 Jan 2015: The stage is set for the 'Run Kerala Run'. This unique mass run, the first of its kind in the world, will bring together people from all walks of life all across the state. The event will be held on January 20th at 10.30 am 'Run Kerala Run' is a curtain raiser event for the 35th National Games, and will showcase Kerala's unity and solidarity and its commitment to the sporting community.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will join Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and other dignitaries in the run, which will be flagged off by Hon Governor of Kerala Justice Shri P Sathasivam from the south gate of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. There will be 7000 points across the state at each of which people can participate in the run.

Thousands of educational institutions, residents associations and corporate agencies have registered for this historic event. People who have not registered for the event can also join the runners at designated locations. All towns & cities in the state with various starting points, are venues for the 'Run'.
