Barcelona, Aug 31 (IANS) Newly-signed Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer feels "happy" and it is a "huge thrill" to be at the Catalan football club after being signed from Valencia for a transfer fee of around 30 million euros ($33.4 million).
"I'm happy to be here at such a big club... coming here is a huge thrill," the Spanish international said, according to Barcelona's official website on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old joined Barcelona for five seasons to play alongside what he described as the world's three best strikers.
"Messi, Neymar and Suarez are the three best players in the world. It will be a privilege to play next to them," he pointed out.
Alcácer became the first striker signed this summer by Luis Enrique's team following defenders Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne, midfielders Andre Gomes and Denis Suárez and goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen to the Catalan giants.
Alcacer explained that it will be "easy to adapt" at Barcelona because he has good relations with his teammates, such as Jordi Alba and Andre Gomes who previously played with him at Valencia, or players from the Spanish national team.
"I am here to provide hard work, humility and professionalism," Alcacer added.
Alcacer, a product of Valencia academy, extended his thanks to his previous clubs that contributed to his transfer to Barcelona.
