India steps into the much-awaited sports extravaganza at the 2014 Asian Games. The second biggest sports event in the world after Olympics will kick start in a moment in Incheon.
Let us sideline issues like selection, people opting out at the last moment in order to concentrate on their personal growth, flag bearing issues and all.
Here’s what we should do:
- Support: Support the players who were all part of the Asian Games squad. Fans support will be the huge boosting factor for the players out there.
- Media attention: All the sports and events need some media attention so that players can showcase themselves on the big stage and doing that people will come to realize the happenings.
- Cherish the efforts, not the outcome: Irrespective of the result, please appreciate the efforts put in to perform in this grand stage.
- Red Carpet Welcome: All the players who will return India should be given red carpet welcome because representing India among billion of people is not an easy thing.
- Rewards for the Awards: Each individual who makes our country proud should be complemented with desired rewards.
- Stop Favoring a Sport: Human always have the tendency to favor particular sport which should be stopped.
- Recognize the Talent: All of us must stand together and raise our hands for the talent of the each and every individual.
- Avoid State wise Appreciation: We have seen people praising athletes only of a particular state. Make a simple understanding that “He is human and move over he is Indian”.
As an Indian, only thing I will cherish is the moment when “India’s flag is on top with our National Anthem being played in the background”. Treat for eyes and ears at a time.
I know the moment when this will happen. My heart will start beat “India- India” rather than “lup- tup”.
