1. Shuttler Sindhu reaches Malaysian Open semi-finals

Top seed P.V. Sindhu reached the women’s singles semi-finals of the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold here at the Juara Indoor Stadium by winning both her second round and quarter-final matches Thursday.

2. Kashyap drops out of top-10, Sindhu moves up

After achieving a career-high of World No.6 last week, Parupalli Kashyap dropped out of the men’s singles top-10 in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released Thursday.

3. IPL 6: CSK beat Kings XI by 15 runs

Suresh Raina struck a fine unbeaten 100, the third century of Indian Premier League (IPL) season six, to set-up a 15-run win for Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here Thursday.

4. McIlroy among seven sharing Quail Hollow lead.

World number two Rory McIlroy was one of seven players sharing the lead on five-under 67 after the first round of the US PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow.

5. Damiao set for Tottenham move, says Internacional.

Brazil’s Internacional have conceded they are likely to lose star striker Leandro Damiao to English club Tottenham Hotspur next season.

6. Kuznetsova enters Portugal Open quarters

Russia’s Svetlana Kuznetsova reached the quarterfinals of the Portugal Open tennis event, beating Kazakhstan’s Galina Voskoboeva.

7. Bahrain’s Sheikh Salman voted new Asian football boss

Bahrain royal Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa promised a new era of transparency and openness Thursday as he became the leader of scandal-hit Asian Football Confederation with a landslide election win.

8. IPL 6: RCB stave off Pune’s challenge for first away win

Saurabh Tiwary and Ab de Villiers were instrumental in getting Royal Challengers Bangalore past Pune Warriors here Thursday for their first away victory in this year’s Indian Premier League.

9. Chelsea overcome Basel to reach Europa final

Chelsea reached the Europa League final for the first time in their history after surviving a first-half scare to defeat Swiss champions FC Basel 3-1 in the second leg of their semi-final on Thursday.

10. Warriors hold off Nuggets to reach NBA 2nd round

The Golden State Warriors squandered an 18-point fourth-quarter lead but held on to beat the Denver Nuggets 92-88 to reach the second round of the NBA playoffs.
