Real Madrid, a team which has a class apart. The most successful football club in Europe. One of the most successful sporting franchises of all time. 9 European cups/Champions leagues, 31 times La liga winners, 17 Copa Del Reys and 7 Supercups. Phew! That was a long list but what Real Madrid has been for 3 years can simply be conveyed in two words ‘Below Par’. Great superstars, excellent mangaers, world class support staff, they have had it all but still failed to deliver which is totally above my head.
They have so much money (god, i wish Liverpool had that much) that within their annual budget, 8 premier league clubs can be bought outright. I actually hate Real Madrid quite much but especially more since their disappointing 2009-10 season. They had bought 3 superstar players for 160 million pounds namely C. Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema (Yes Benzema, whom they are not even using properly) and in the conquest to accommodate these superstar players, they ignored 2 world class players (both bald) for which subsequently they had to pay for.

Lets start with my favourite of the two- Arjen Robben. Robben, the best Left Midfielder in the world at the moment is an extremely lethal player and who had to move to Bayern Munchen. His favourite move is to sprint at his devastating speed and then move across the defender to shoot at goal which earned him many goals in his first season with Bayern. Bayern won the German cup, Bundesliga and contested in the final of UEFA Champions League against Inter. And guess what Real Madrid got, no cups and a stupid Portuguese who just cares about hot girls and scoring goals fr himself.
Wesley Sneijder- Had to go to Inter Milan and play, and play he did. He tore every Italian club defence with his sharp passing and devastating free-kicks. He was such a prolific goalscorer. Inter won everything that year. Fast Forward- FIFA World Cup 2010, Sneijder becomes top-scorer for the Dutch and leads them to the final which they lost in an excruciatingly close battle to Spain.
Real Madrid lose both the matches against Barcelona, manage to lose every competition they take part in and have to see two players they let go win trophies for somebody else. Wow!
Fast Foward, La Liga 2010-2011, they let go Rafael Van Der Vaart who till now has had a great season with Tottenham Hotspurs. So now they have bought Ozil, Khedira, and Pedro Leon but the biggest change is that they have added THE CHOSEN ONE to their Bandwagon, the great Jose Mourinho.
So here’s wishing Madrid the best of luck for this season, not because I like them but more to the fact that I can’t see so much money being wasted for nothing and Mourinho losing.
