Three reasons why Arsenal will finish in the top four

Only three and a half months left for Arsenal to get a berth in Champions League next year. Well here are three reasons to be optimistic about securing it.

1. Captain Fantastic:

ROBIN VAN PERSIE is in the form of his life. He is currently the best striker in the world and very few will disagree over this. In the last calendar year he found the back of the net on 35 occasions, a stunning figure and just one short of Alan Shearer’s record. The match against Blackburn was a testimony to the fact that he has carried his terrific form in to 2012 as well and who knows, this year he might get past the elusive 36 goals figure (keep your fingers crossed). His ability to score goals in almost every match will surely prove to be decisive in Arsenal’s attempt to play in the champions league next season. RVP was instrumental in getting Arsenal to where it stands today after the devastating start to the season and I have no doubt that he will guide the team to a top four finish. He has lead the team from front, inspired them and most importantly gave us hope.

2. Defence:

Well, most of you might have been surprised, but now that our full backs are back we will be more stronger defensively. Sagna is back and he will surely shore up the defence. With Gibbs warming up to take his place back, we will have all our full backs available after a very long time. Thomas Vermaelen and Mertesacker or Koscielny can form the central defensive pair. The German national took some time to get used to English football but he is beginning to find his feet. His performance against Manchester United was one of the positives for Arsenal. Koscielny was awarded the player of the month award by Arsenal fans for his brilliant displays. And of course we have THE VERMINATOR to rely upon. If at all any striker got past these players, Szczesny, will stand guard to Arsenal’s goal. He has transformed into a world class keeper very quickly and at a very young age too. If you look at our defence we could afford to relax and be confident of more clean sheets in the coming matches.

3. Attack

Finally we have players scoring goals other than RVP. The rise of Oxlade has been a boost for Arsenal. After watching him play against Manchester Utd it was hard to believe that he is just 18. He is good in getting past defenders, making diagonal runs into the box and opening up defences. Theo is back in form. Though he failed to score against Blackburn he provided near perfect assists during the game. Then we will have Gervinho back after the African Nations Cup. He is on a high after firing Ivory Coast to the finals scoring the only goal in the match. He justified his price tag with impressive performances in BPL. One more player who has returned early is Chamakh. No one expects much from him but it will be good to see him play the way he did when he arrived in London. This attack possesses enough quality in it to open up any defence.

Also we have Jack returning(hopefully can play some matches in this season). We can also be sure that Chelsea will drop some points. Players like Torres and Carroll will help our cause.
