Sports and Glamour are like Siamese twins, one is inseparable from the other. Fans not just idolize their favorite players for their game but also for their style quotient that they wish to emulate. Fashionable Sportspersons are an advertiser’s wet dream. Leading Sportsmen are chased by the corporate as their Brand ambassadors. An average player like Kournikova ruled the roost for years; her being a Tennis player came in handy to sell numerable lifestyle products. Any wonder every year we have lists of Sexiest Female Tennis players. Sportsmen like Beckham, Cristiano make it to the Sexiest Men list year after year. In India Glamour and Sports invariable mean Cricketers. So it was a shock to many fans to see a list of Glamorous Indian Sportswomen on this very forum recently. Some of the girls were just drop dead gorgeous. This also brought to mind the numerous instances, when the females of the family and among friends would watch a match only for the sake of their beloved male players.
To set the record straight and also to establish Sportskeeda as an Equal opportunity website, here’s a list of Indian Sportsmen who are as comfortable on a ramp as on the field. Please vote for most glamorous Sportsmen and remember not to judge them solely on their on field performances, it’s about looks and package.
Again don’t forget to vote for your Favorite as we will rank them accordingly.

The best Badminton Player to Don Indian Colours. They called him ‘The Gentle Tiger,’. The captain of Indian Hockey Team, Played a stellar role in winning Junior World Cup, Silver Medal at Busan Asian Games, Gold medal In Asia Cup, Played in Athens Olympics, took retirement at his prime after playing 180 games in Indian jersey to do his MBA from ISB. And he has just turned 30. Phew. It was a sad day when the uber stylish Viren quit Hockey calling it a practical decision. Hockey lost a flamboyant player but thankfully his heart lies in Sports still. He is COO of Olympic Gold Quest which aims to groom sportspersons for Olympic glory. All the best to him.

Yuvi the Star has always overshadowed Yuvraaj the Cricketer. He endorses more brands than he would care to remember. On his day, he is the most destructive batsman around, his electrifying fielding and his fearless approach to the game endeared him to masses. The Young Cricketer’s stylish nature, love for glamour, parties and affairs with Pretty Young Things (PYT’s) of Bollywood was criticized but always with some amount of indulgence reserved for the brat of the family. Things have been little rough for him recently. Hopefully it’s just a passing phase and Yuvi will be back doing what he does best. Win matches and hearts of PYT’s.

He doesn’t smile much. In fact ever since he took captaincy and then relinquished it, he has almost stopped smiling. But before the WALL was upstaged by the new generation (atleast in shorter formats), he was one of most famous player amongst women. His marriage broke many a heart. He was termed cute and had huge fan following of the fairer sex.
#5 :Arjun Atwal:

First Indian to play in US PGA tour , First Indian to win a US PGA tour title, First Indian to win European tour Order Of Merit title, First player in Asian PGA to cross $1 million in career earnings. There are many firsts to Atwal, to this one may also add the first to generate public interest in Golf which in India is largely ignored as a sport and considered a rich man’s time pass.

This Boxer who won a medal in Olympics has the Chocolate Boy looks that make girls go weak in the knee. Looking anything but a fight hardened Boxer, the charming lad sure packs a punch. He is the first non cricketer to ink multi million dollar sponsorship deal. He is frequently seen on ramps and in company of glamour dolls of Indian Film and fashion industries. He sure is getting a kick out of life right now.
#7 :Ajay Jadeja:

Before he threw it all away and disgraced himself and the game, this not so talented cricketer was the heart throb of the nation. His gritty knocks coming lower down the order , his excellent fielding which was a rarity in Indian cricket at that time and street smart tactics made him a crowd favourite. His infectious smile and natural ease in front of camera plus good looks had the country swooning over him. He was an advertiser’s delight. He also acted in movies with little success. His life sadly will always be what could have been.

If ever anyone blurred the Reel and Real life, he would be the first. This Southern superstar is known for his method acting as much as he is known for his Romantic roles. He is also a keen racer who has driven on various Indian circuits. He drove in 2003 Formula Asia BMW championship. After a 6 year sabbatical he is racing presently in 2010 FIA Formula 2 championship

He is the most famous name of Indian Football. Captain of Indian side, he has also dabbled in European League playing for Bury FC. He has endorsed the likes of Adidas and Nike. This player from Sikkim is known to speak his mind and has clear convictions that prompted him to refuse being the Olympic Torch Bearer for Beijing Olympics in support of Tibetan cause. He took part in a Dance show on TV and proved his dancing skills by winning the show.

the younger pathan of the brother duo shot to fame in no time after his debut. In him we saw an allrounder ready to step in the giant shoes of Kapil Dev. His in wingers and the straight bat approach while batting showcased a phenomenal talent. His cheerful demeanor and great looks catapulted him to stardom in no time. No one was surprised when a girl jumped on him to steal a kiss. His downslide in bowling is keeping him out of Indian Team at present. But his star appeal is intact.

I think I just ran into this handsome hunk at GIP in Noida earlier tonight. Perhaps it was the drinks or maybe the awe that I could not even ask him for his autograph. In real he looks even better than he does on TV. He did flash his famous smile which if you ask me makes him look somewhere between George Clooney and Richard Gere. This Man has got the style that comes naturally to the Army men.The silver Gold Medalist for Trap Shooting in Athens is a hot shot for whom our heart goes same way his does for the Country, “ Dhak Dhak Go”.
#12 :Geet Sethi:
[polldaddy rating="2749665"]
Say Billiards and image flashes of a man dressed impeccably in Waist Coat bending over a board. For most of us that image is of Geet Sethi who dominated in sports in 90’s. A six time Professional Champion is proud recipient of highest honour in Sports in country the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. He dreams of winning a medal as and when cue sports become an Olympic Sport and so do we.

In May Ways he was the orginal Glamour Boy of Indian Sports in General and Cricket in particular. A gifted Cricketer his career was not long. But the debonair allrounder left an undeniable mark on cricket=glamour map. His rumored affairs with Actress Amrita Singh and the alleged interest of one of the sexiest Tennis Players ever, Sabitini in him drove the media into a frenzy. He still scores in his role as a commentator with excellent grasp on cricket nuances and over Queen’s language.

This one half of the famed Lee- Hesh pair never could achieve the stature of his one time partner Paes, but this tall dusky Tennis star was second to none in his off field presence. He was married to Supermodel Svetha Jaishankar whom he later divorced. He has been linked with many pin up girls throughout his career including Lara Dutta and Sania Mirza.
p.s : Thanks to Raj Gopalakrishnan for the Idea of this list.
