Germany traveled to Boca Raton to face Ecuador in a friendly match and the Germans wasted little time as they found the back of the net as early as the 6th second through striker Lukas Podolski.
Podolski stole the ball after some silly defending and a couple of back passes by the Ecuadorians, and scored past the goalkeeper with ease.
Germany won the game by 4 – 2 thanks to a double from both Podolski and Bender.
