It was the fifth and final test of the Ashes series and the series was leveled at 1-1. England had earlier scored a splendid 332 runs in their first innings, before bowling out Aussies for 160. Thanks to Broad for his wonderful spell of 5-37. England in the 2nd innings piled up 373 runs and declared which included a superb 119 from Jonathan Trott. It was a one-sided contest till England’s 2nd innings, but Australia found their way in their run-chase of 546 runs with skipper Ponting scoring a brisk half-century and his partner Hussey too chipped in with some valuable runs.

Nevertheless, the breakthrough provided by Swann brought England back-into the contest and went onto win the Ashes Series. One of the best Ashes matches ever.
