Aditya Jagtap carried the Indian tricolour into the quarterfinal stage at the World Junior Men’s Squash Championships in Quito, Ecuador.
Along with Aditya Jagtap there are 5 Egyptians and one each from Pakistan and England.
Earlier in the day Aditya defeated Lance Beddoes from New Zealand in a compressive manner. In the evening Aditya jagtap and had to overcome a resistant James Earles from England. Having won the first game playing aggressive shots, James slowed down the pace to level the scores. But a spirited Aditya jagtap ran to a six-point lead in the third keeping the tempo high. Aditya went on to win the third and subsequently win the match with his aggressive play.Aditya play the tournaments top seed Amr Khalifa from Egypt in his quarterfinal.Ravi Dixit reached the round of 16 before bowing out to giant killer Mohamed El Sherbini from Egypt. Sherbini defeated third seeded Lucas Serme in round 3 in a thrilling five setter. Ravi defeated Frenchman Damien in straight games but had manylong rallies thru the matches with both players retrieving almost everything.Ramit and Karan were unable to advance into the 4th round as they lost in straight games.
