Mahesh Mangaonkar continued his brilliant run at the PSA $15,000 Sekisui Open at Kriens, Switzerland as he reached the final on Saturday. The fifth seeded Indian did not face any trouble in the semi-final and easily beat the unseeded Frenchman Geoffrey Demont, 11-6, 11-9, 11-5.

The 21-year-old will contest the final on Sunday against the defending champion Kristian Frost Olesen of Denmark. The 27-year-old, who is also the reigning Danish Nationals champion, upset the top seed Greg Lobban, 7-11, 12-10, 11-5, 9-11, 11-8 in the other semi-final.

The 65th ranked Indian, who had upset the second seed Raphael Kandra in the quarter-finals, was thrilled to play a final again.

“It’s been a while since I played a PSA final. Especially not performing well in 2015, it was extremely hard to take positive notes after every loss,” Mangaonkar said.

“But tomorrow, I play my eighth PSA World Tour final. Very much looking forward to play a final against a tough opponent and hopefully I can keep the same performance and result as I have in the previous rounds.”

He last played a final at the NSCI Open in September which was his only PSA final of 2015.
