Kush Kumar is the lone Indian to figure within the top ten in the WSF world junior rankings published this month by the World Squash Federation. The first Indian male player to earn a medal in a world championship when he won a bronze in the Namibia world juniors a few months ago, Kush Kumar, the national junior champion, is ranked four in the list. Diego Eliaz from Peru is the top ranked player in the junior men’s section and Nouran Gohar of Egypt in the junior women’s category.
Pakistan’s Tayyab Aslam is in second place in the men’s list with Hong Kong’s Tsun Hei Yuen in the third.
The WSF world junior rankings, based on the under-19 age grouping – are issued quarterly, based on results achieved in national junior and senior opens, regional championships and WSF World Junior Individual Championships.
