The latest Professional Squash Association (PSA) and Women’s Squash Association (WSA) for the month of June, 2013 have been revealed.

The country’s top male squash player, Saurav Ghosal dropped a spot to rank no. 20 in the latest release of PSA rankings. Ghosal, 26, failed to go beyond the second round of the ‘prestigious’ Allam British Open as he couldn’t get past the world no. 2 Grégory Gaultier.

Harinder Pal Sandhu, who had achieved his career-best rank of no. 69 last month, dropped a place to rank no. 70 and is India’s best bet after Saurav Ghosal.

19 year-old Mahesh Mangaonkar has achieved the best rank of his career after jumping 6 spots to be placed no. 100 in men’s world rankings.

Ravi Dixit was another Indian who was successful in achieving his career-best rank. Dixit, 21, jumped 11 spots to rank no. 127 in PSA rankings.

On the women’s side, India’s pride Dipika Pallikal, who reached the pre-quarters of the Allam British Open, clung to no. 15 in the latest WSA release. The 21 year-old had broken into the top 10 back in December 2012.

India’s no. 2 Joshana Chinappa slipped a position to rank no. 27 following her first round defeat to world no. 1 Nicol David in the first round of Allam British Open 2013.

Anaka Alankamony had a downfall of 22 spots in the rankings due to dormancy. Anaka, who is ranked no. 107 in the latest WSA rankings, has had the career-best rank of no. 59, achieved by her way back in June 2010.

Aparajitha Balakumaran, 19, who was ranked as high as no. 77 in August 2010, retained last month’s rank of no. 117.
