Results of SGFI Squash Championship, Chennai (22-26 Feb 2014)

The 2nd edition of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Squash Championships 2014 was held at the ISA, Chennai from 22 – 26 February 2014.

Participation was from six states in the boys’ category – Delhi, Maharashtra, Vidhya Bharathi (Indore), Goa, Assam and Tamil Nadu, while there were four states in the girls’ category – Delhi, Goa, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu dominated the individual event with Ashita Pranaya Bhengra defeating top seeded Akanksha Salunkhe from Goa and Abhay Singh defeating top seeded Yash Bhargava from Delhi. Ashita stamped her authority from the start to win 3-0 while Abhay clawed his was back from 0-2 to win in the decider.

In the team event, Delhi defeated Tamil Nadu to win the Boys’ team gold while the lasses from Tamil Nadu defeated Goa 2-1.
