Saurav Ghosal won in three games

India’s Saurav Ghosal won the Kolkata International by beating Marwan ElShorbagy of Egypt 11-7 11-2 11-7 in the summit clash on Sunday.

The opening game began on a close note, but from the 2-2 mark, it was the Indian who dominated proceedings, winning 2 out of the next 3 points to go 4-3 up. Once again from the 4-4 mark, he had the upper hand in the game as he won two more points to go 6-4 up. The Egyptian continued to peg back Ghosal, but the latter finished the game from the 6-6 mark, clinching 5 out of the next 6 points to win the game 11-7.

The second game was totally one-way traffic as Ghosal ripped through his opponent to win the game 11-2 and proceed towards winning the contest.

The third and the final game saw Ghosal assume control from the 1-1 mark as he kept pegging ElShorbagy back and eventually sealed the game 11-7 to clinch the final.
