In a big blow to the Indian team’s chances at the upcoming WSF Men’s World Squash Team Championship, the India No. 1 Saurav Ghosal has suffered from a fatigue fracture in his right foot which prompted his withdrawal from the ongoing Hong Kong Open. The World No. 18 was due to play the top seed Mohamed Elshorbagy in the second round on Thursday.
Due to the injury, Ghosal will now not be able to spearhead the Indian team at the WSF Men’s World Squash Team Championship which is scheduled to be held in Cairo, Egypt from 12-18 December. The Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) has already announced replacements for Ghosal and also for Mahesh Mangaonkar, who has opted out due to personal health issues.
