In 2004, during an ALC series. Ortiz came to the rescue of the Red Sox when he crushed the opposing pitcher's pitches one after the another. This led to Sox winning by 6-4. 

Curt Schilling's sportsmanship 

In a 2004 game, Curt Schilling came to the field with an injury to squash the opponents. Although he didn't do much in the first inning he decimated the Yankees in the second one. 

When asked about that day, he recalls that he couldn't feel his leg. And that, the bottom of the shoe was covered in blood yet he still played on.
