Chinese weightlifter Hoi Zhihui is an Olympic medallist, a World Champion, and a two-time Asian Champion in the women's 49 kg category. On Wednesday, August 7, she will be up against Mirabai Chanu, the silver medallist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021).
Zhihui secured the gold medal at the Tokyo Games, lifting a total of 210 kg (94 + 116). On the other hand, Mirabai settled for the silver with a total lift of 202 kg.
At the IWF World Cup in 2024, Hou Zhihui secured a silver medal, lifting a total of 217 kg. She also bagged consecutive medals at the World Weightlifting Championships in 2022 (bronze) and 2023 (silver).
