Puerto Rican wrestler Darian Cruz will face India’s young and rising wrestler Aman Sehrawat in the men’s 57 kg bronze medal bout at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Friday, August 9.
The three-time Pan American medallist, Cruz made the cut for the Paris Olympics 2024 after his impressive performances in the Pan American Qualification Tournament in February and March this year.
Cruz was the 2017 NCAA Division I national champion from Lehigh University. He clinched three gold medals at the EIWA Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018 after settling for bronze in 2014.
The Grand Prix 2022 silver medallist wrestler will face a stiff challenge from the U23 World Championships gold medallist wrestler from India. Additionally, Aman also bagged the Asian Championships 2023 gold medal in China.
