Two-time Olympic medallist, Indian shuttler PV Sindhu is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the forthcoming Paris Olympics, scheduled to start from July 26. She is confident of bagging a hat-trick of medals in Paris after securing silver and bronze medals in the Rio and Tokyo Olympics respectively.

Though PV Sindhu’s form hasn’t been that great, she has spent the last few months with her mentor and former shuttler Prakash Padukone, enhancing her confidence in the lead-up to the quadrennial event in Paris.

It’s worth noting that no Indian player has secured three consecutive Olympic medals. A podium finish in the French capital will propel Sindhu as one of India's greatest athletes. After her training session at Porte de la Chapelle Arena in Paris, Sindhu oozed confidence that she would bag a medal.

"I am aiming for a medal, definitely, yes. Whether it's one or two or three, it doesn't matter. I've won two medals and I don't want to take pressure by thinking that, oh, what is the third one," Sindhu said as quoted by the PTI.
"Every time I play Olympics, it's a new Olympics for me. So every time I go out there, I want to get a medal and hopefully, I will do that hat trick soon,” she added.

PV Sindhu reveals her training regime ahead of Paris 2024 Olympics

Before heading to Paris, PV Sindhu took part in training sessions at Sportcampus Saar in Saarbrucken, Germany. The altitude and weather conditions there are pretty ideal for Paris.

Additionally, she got a hypoxic chamber for low oxygen conditions in her room and slept for a couple of days to help her body prepare for the higher-altitude places.

"I couldn't go to the high altitude training center. I didn't have much time and obviously, there I couldn't have been playing. So I just thought, it would be good for me instead of going somewhere, getting it here and doing some changes and sleeping that way," she stated.

During the Paris 2024 Olympics, if a rally demands the maximum strength from an athlete, these training methods can help her tackle the challenges in a swift manner. Furthermore, she stated that she was improving consistently on her shots in long rallies.
