Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra advised the Paris Olympics-bound shooters to stay in the moment and focus on the process to execute their skills at the forthcoming Paris Olympics 2024 and excel.

In a panel discussion conducted by the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCC), Abhinav Bindra hailed the current generation of athletes and their self-belief.

“There are some similarities to my generation also. You have to show up and perform on the day. It is not easy. But, it is possible, if you cut out the past and the future, and live in the moment. Focus on the process of executing your skills,” Abhinav Bindra said during the event (via The Hindu).

Later, Thierry Mathou, the Ambassador of France in India, reminded everyone on a lighter note that France stood as a runner-up in cricket when the sport was part of the Olympics last time around and he was looking forward to its return at the Los Angeles Olympics.

Furthermore, Mathou stated that the Paris Olympics 2024 would be different from the previous Games in so many ways, starting with the opening ceremony on the river bank.

The Paris Olympics organizers’ main focus is on innovation, sustainability, solidarity, and equality. He stressed that only the swimming pool has been built for the Games while the rest of the venues are temporary or renovated from existing facilities.

“Master the process and go after it” - AFI President

On the other hand, Adille Sumariwalla, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) president, who was also part of the discussion, stated that a systematic process has been followed since 2012 to have the best ecosystem in order to enhance the results at all levels including the CWG, Asian Games, World Championships and the Games.

“Master the process and go after it. Results will come,” Sumariwalla said.

Union Sports Ministry Joint Secretary Kunal conveyed that the government has been supporting all sports at all levels to the best extent possible.

Tennis player Manisha Malhotra, who was associated with Abhinav Bindra and Neeraj Chopra, via the Mittal Champions Trust and the JSW Sports, respectively, feels Paris 2024 is going to be the best Games for India and expects shooters to come out all guns blazing this time around.
