Indian shooter Anjum Moudgil participated in the women's 50m Rifle 3 positions at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She did not enjoy a remarkable campaign and failed to make a cut for the final of the event.
Anjum finished in 15th position at the end of the Qualification Round of the event, which was held at the Asaka Shooting Range. She got off to a solid start and showcased terrific performance in Kneeling and Prone Rounds. Despite this, she squandered a golden opportunity and failed to make it to the final. She could shoot only 383 in the Standing position.
The 30-year-old concluded her campaign at the Tokyo Olympics after finishing with a total of 1167 with 54 inner 10s. Unfortunately, her score fell four points short of advancing to the medal round. Despite being in the top 8 after the Prone Round, she finished 15th overall.
Anjum Moudgil attempted to showcase a powerful performance in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, where she and Deepak Kumar finished well outside the qualification spots.
Anjum Moudgil's career in brief
Throughout her glorious career, Anjum Moudgil has achieved numerous accolades. She secured a silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle event with a score of 248.4 in the final of the ISSF World Championship in Changwon.
She finished ninth at the 2016 World Cup in Munich. Anjum earned a silver medal at the World University Championship and also won gold at the South Asian Games.
In 2017, Anjum clinched a silver medal at the 10m Air Rifle Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters. She followed it with another silver in the women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event at the ISSF World Cup in Mexico the following year.
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games (CWG), she won a silver medal with an overall score of 455.7 points. In addition, she achieved the World No. 2 ranking in women's 10m Air Rifle ISSF rankings in May 2019.
