Divyansh Singh Panwar participated in the 10m rifle event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but failed to advance to the final. Notably, he secured his Olympic qualification by securing the silver medal in the 10-meter air rifle event at the 2019 ISSF World Cup.

The 21-year-old had a poor qualification round in Tokyo, finishing in the 32nd spot at the Asaka Shooting Range. In the event, only the top eight shooters make a cut for the final medal round.

Divyansh Singh Panwar began his shooting competition in Tokyo with a challenging score of 102.7 in his first series of 10 shots. However, he made a consistent improvement in subsequent rounds, achieving scores of 103.7, 103.6, 104.6, 104.6, and finishing with 103.6. Overall, he managed to accumulate a total score of 622.8 across 60 shots but it wasn't enough to progress to the final.


Divyansh Singh Panwar's career in brief

Divyansh Singh Panwar began shooting in 2014 at the age of 12, training at the Jangpura shooting range in Jaipur. His achievements include winning two gold medals at the 2018 ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl.

The 21-year-old alongside Hriday Hazarika and Shahu Tushar Mane, clinched the gold medal in the junior men's team 10-meter air rifle event with a score of 1875.3, marking a world junior record. Panwar and Elavenil Valarivan also broke the world junior record in the junior mixed team event, securing another gold medal.

At the 2018 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Changwon, Panwar alongside Shreya Agarwal clinched a bronze medal in the junior mixed team event.

He had teamed up with Anjum Moudgil for the mixed team event at various World Cups, acquiring gold in Beijing and Munich, while bronze in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, he won gold in the individual 10-meter air rifle event at the 2019 World Cup Final in Putian.
