Mairaj Ahmed Khan is an Indian skeet shooter who made his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics and finished ninth place. He has also competed in the men's skeet event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He unfortunately experienced a less memorable campaign, finishing in 25th place.
During the two-day qualification round in the skeet shooting event, the Uttar Pradesh-born shooter had an assorted performance. He ultimately missed out on a spot in the medal round.
Mairaj Ahmad Khan shot successive rounds of 23 at the Asaka Shooting Range event, which placed him 25th with a total score of 117. It's worth noting that only the top six shooters from the qualification round enter the medal round.

Mairaj Ahmed Khan made his debut on the international stage at the 2003 ISSF World Cup in Lonato, Italy. Since then, he has participated in various regional, national, and global competitions.
The competitions Mairaj Ahmad Khan has participated in, including the ISSF World Shooting Championships (2000, 2003, 2005-2011, 2013-2016, 2021), Commonwealth Shooting Championships (2010), Commonwealth Games (2010, 2014), Asian Games (2006, 2010, 2014), Asian Shooting Championships (2004, 2007-2009, 2011-2014, 2016-2017, 2019), and the South Asian Federation Shooting Championship (2009).
In 2015, Mairaj Ahmed Khan made history as the first Indian skeet shooter to qualify for the Olympics. In 2022 in Changwon, South Korea, he further solidified his legacy as he became the first Indian skeet shooter to clinch a gold medal at the ISSF World Cup.
Mairaj Ahmad Khan along with Ganemat Sekhon won gold in mixed skeet, defeating Gabriela Rodriguez and Luis Oliveros of Mexico 6-0 at the shotgun World Cup in Cairo in 2023.
The Indian duo finished first in qualifying with 143 points, the same as Mexico, and won the shoot-off 4-3 to secure the top spot ahead of the gold match. The Indian couple established themselves by winning in three rounds (8-5, 6-5, and 5-4), with each round receiving two points for the highest score.
