Pranati Nayak, an Indian artistic gymnast, made her Olympic debut at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. She is only the second Indian female gymnast after Dipa Karmakar to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Representing India as the sole gymnast in Tokyo, her performance was commendable, despite falling short of medal contention in all the artistic gymnastics events she participated in.
In four categories - floor exercise, vault, balance beam, and uneven bars - she accumulated a total of 42.565 points. With this, Pranati Nayak was placed 79th among 80 gymnasts and bowed out of the event. The top 24 gymnasts made the cut for the all-around final and the top eight qualified for the finals of each apparatus.
Nayak had secured her Olympic berth through a continental quota.
