Rahi Sarnobat, an Indian shooter, participated in the women's 25m pistol event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In the qualification round from where only the top eight shooters advanced to the final, the Indian shooter finished 32nd.

Rahi secured the 25th position with 287 points on the first day of the qualification round held at the Akasa Shooting Range. On the following day, she scored 286 points in the rapid-fire round, resulting in a cumulative score of 573.


Rahi Sarnobat's stellar shooting career

Rahi Sarnobat, hailing from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, created history as the first pistol shooter of India to clinch a gold medal in the ISSF World Cup, after winning in the 25-meter pistol event in Changwon.

She showcased her prowess at the international stage after clinching a bronze medal at the 2011 World Cup in Fort Benning, which secured her spot at the 2012 London Olympics. After earning a spot at the Summer Games she became the first Indian woman shooter to qualify for the 25-meter sports pistol event at the Olympics.

Rahi Sarnobat clinched a gold medal in the women's 25-meter pistol event at the 2015 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She won a bronze medal in the women's 25-meter pistol team event at the Asian Games in Incheon later that year, alongside Anisa Sayyed and Heena Sidhu.

In May 2015, she was also nominated by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) for India's prestigious Arjuna Award.

In August 2018, she made history becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games. She achieved this feat in the 25-meter pistol event with a score of 34.

Rahi Sarnobat continued to shine, clinching gold in the women's 25-meter pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in Osijek, scoring 39 points in the final. She also secured a gold medal at the 2019 Munich World Cup, which helped her earn a place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
