A large part of the Indian badminton contingent has arrived at the Paris Olympics and they're getting busy trying out the courts for matchday. The likes of HS Prannoy and Ashwini Ponnappa took to their social media to give fans an inside look of the Olympic Village as well as the Porte de La Chapelle Arena badminton courts.

India's badminton contingent at the Games consists of seven players. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu leads the charge with repeat Olympians Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, and Ashwini Ponnappa, as they are joined by Olympic debutants HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and Tanisha Crasto. This marks India’s joint-biggest badminton representation at the Games.

As the nation's shuttler arrived at the 2024 Paris Olympics Village, many were quick to share snaps of the badminton courts with their fans on Instagram. HS Prannoy posted a photo of him on court with the caption,

Meanwhile, Tanisha Crasto echoed a similar sentiment on her Instagram post, writing,

“Making dreams turn into reality. Super happy and grateful to be here. It's showtime.”

On the other hand, both Ashwini Ponnappa and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy took to their Instagram stories to document their arrival at the Paris Olympics.

Meanwhile, the official Instagram account of the Indian Olympic association also shared a few photos welcoming the shuttlers to the Olympic Village.

Paris Olympics Badminton: Who will be the first Indian shuttler in action?

Lakshya Sen will be the first Indian shuttler to grace the courts of the Porte de La Chapelle Arena, as he will take on Kevin Cordon at 19:10 PM on July 27. The Guatemalan was a semifinalist at the Tokyo Olympics, and Sen will have to move forward with caution.

Soon after this, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be in action at the Paris Olympics, as they battle the host nation’s Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar at 8:00 PM.

Rounding out the day for India will be Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto, as they battle Korea’s World Championships silver-medalist as well as Tokyo bronze medalists Kim So Yeong and Kong Hee-yong.
