The six-member Indian boxing contingent (four women and two men) will take to the mat in the hope of creating history at the Paris Olympics 2024. The global event is set to take place from July 26 to August 11 at France's capital, Paris.
The boxing events of the Games will see a total of 248 athletes competing in 13 weight classes. The male pugilists will compete in seven weight classes, while the female boxers are set to contest in six weight divisions.
However, from India, there will be participation from only two male boxers (51kg and 71kg). Meanwhile, there will be medal hopes in four divisions (50kg, 54kg, 57kg and 75kg) in the women's domain.
The Tokyo Olympics saw as many as nine Indian athletes (five men and four women) form the Indian boxing contingent. Lovlina Borgohain clinched a bronze medal after losing to Turkey's Busenaz Sürmeneli in the Women's 69kg semi-final. With the feat, she became only the third Indian boxer to claim an Olympic medal after Vijender Singh (Beijing 2008) and Mary Kom (London 2012).
Boxing venues for Paris Olympics 2024
The Arena Paris Nord in Villepinte will host the preliminary boxing matches of Paris Olympics 2024. The venue is the largest modular sports facility in France with nine halls.
Meanwhile, the Roland Garros Stadium will stage the medal rounds (semi-finals and final).
Boxing dates in Paris Olympics 2024
The boxing events will kickoff with the Round of 32 contest on July 27, followed by Round of 16 and the quarter-finals.
The semi-finals will be played from August 4, and the final of few weight classes are set to begin on August 6. The last day (August 10) of the boxing events will culminate with Men's 57kg, Men's 92kg, Women's 57kg and Women's 75kg finals.

A total of six Indian athletes will represent the Indian boxing contingent in the Games.
