India will clash with Spain in the bronze medal match of men's hockey event at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Thursday, August 8, at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium. This game will also be legendary Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh's final game for the Indian team, who will look to give him a fitting farewell.

India are coming into this game after narrowly losing their semifinal against Germany 3-2. Earlier, they finished second in the group stage and then beat Great Britain 4-2 in a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Spain suffered a 0-4 loss to the Netherlands in their semifinal fixture. Notably, in the quarterfinals, they overcame the challenge of defending champions Belgium, beating them 3-2. Earlier, they had finished fourth in their pool with only two wins in five games.

The Tokyo Olympics saw India win 3-0 against Spain in the group stage, with Rupinder Pal Singh scoring a brace.
