Parveen Kumar put in a brave effort in the Men's Javelin Throw F57 final at the Paris Paralympics 2024, but despite his best efforts, he ended up in eighth place.

Competing against some of the world's top para-athletes, Parveen faced a tough challenge but never backed down. His best throw of the night came in his fourth attempt, reaching 42.12m. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get him closer to the podium.

Yorkinbek Odilov of Uzbekistan stole the show, claiming the gold medal with a new Asian record of 50.32 meters. His throw came on his third attempt, and it was clear from that moment that he had set a high bar for the rest of the competition at Paris Paralympics 2024.

Muhammet Khalvandi from Türkiye took home the silver medal, pushing himself to a season-best throw of 49.97m on his very last attempt. Brazil’s Cicero Valdiran Lins Nobre secured the bronze, landing his best throw of 49.46m in the fifth round.

Parveen's journey in the event at Paris Paralympics 2024 began with a 40.21m throw, placing him in eighth right from the start. Though he improved slightly with a 41.91m throw in the second round, and later hit his peak of 42.12m in the fourth, it just wasn’t enough to lift him in the rankings.

France's Vitolio Kavakava, who finished seventh, maintained a slight edge over Parveen throughout the contest with a best throw of 43.16 meters.
