Indian pistol shooter Manu Bhaker missed out on bagging a hat-trick of medals at the Paris Olympics 2024. She settled for the fourth spot in the women's 25m pistol final after missing out on one shot in the third-place shoot-off.
Hungary’s Veronika Major and India’s Manu Bhaker were tied at 28 points in the fourth place. In the shoot-off for third place, Bhaker hit three out of five shots on target, while Veronika hit four to eliminate the Indian shooter.
South Korea's Jiin Yang secured the gold medal with 37 points after winning the shoot-off with three out of four shots. France's Camille Jedrzejewski settled for the silver medal with 37 points and a shoot-off of one out of four shots.
Heartbroken Indian fans consoled Manu Bhaker as she missed out on her third medal and thanked her for making the nation proud at the biggest sporting event in the world.
“Manu Bhaker misses the hat-trick. So So heartbreaking this one. Still, Well Done Manu. You made the nation PROUD,” a heartbroken fan wrote on X.

Manu Bhaker scripted history after clinching two medals at Paris 2024
Earlier, Manu Bhaker secured a bronze in the women's 10m air pistol event in Paris 2024, emerging as the first female Indian shooter to win a medal at any Olympics.
She then earned another bronze medal in the mixed 10m air pistol team event, along with fellow teammate Sarabjot Singh, to become the first Indian woman to win two medals at an Olympics.
