A heartbreaking moment for Indian sports fans, as swimmer Sajan Prakash, who competed in the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has failed to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024.

This would have been his third consecutive appearance at the Summer Games. Expressing his disappointment on social media, Sajan reflected on his dedication to the sport and the challenges he has faced. In his heartfelt message, the 30-year-old spoke about the arduous journey of maintaining consistent performance at the highest level.

“My attempt to qualify for my third Olympics has come to an end. For over 25 years, I have dedicated myself entirely to this sport, which holds a special place in my heart,” wrote Sajan Prakash.
“Competing in the last two Olympic Games and maintaining consistent performance in such a demanding arena has been profoundly challenging, both physically and mentally. The obstacles off the field often proved to be even tougher,” Sajan added.
