Reigning Olympic champion in javelin throw, Neeraj Chopra, has donned the new Indian jersey for the Paris Olympics 2024. The jersey, which is predominantly blue with white sleeves, is designed by JSW Inspire, the official kit sponsor of Team India. They even designed the jerseys that the Indian athletes wore during the Commonwealth Games 2022 and Asian Games 2023.
In a recent video posted by JSW Sports on their Instagram handle, Tokyo 2020 gold medalist Neeraj Chopra was seen flaunting and posing with the new Indian jersey.
“When our golden boy dons the kit, you know it's game time!” wrote JSW Sports in the caption.
Where is Neeraj Chopra training for Paris Olympics 2024?
Neeraj Chopra’s training is currently underway in Germany with his coach, Klaus Bartonietz, and physio, Ishaan Marwaha. The 26-year-old is giving his all to prepare for Paris Olympics 2024 in order to defend his title and bring back another gold medal to the country.
He has been in good form lately, securing a silver medal in his first competition of the season at the Doha Diamond League with a throw of 88.36m. Chopra then followed it up with a gold medal at the National Federation Cup 2024 with a throw of 82.27m.
In his most recent appearance at the Paavo Nurmi Games, the Indian javelin thrower clinched another gold medal with a distance of 85.97m. Chopra is balancing his schedule very effectively to avoid any injuries as he pulled out of the Ostrava Golden Spike athletics meet in the Czech Republic as a precautionary measure after feeling a niggle in his adductors.
He didn’t register for the recently concluded Paris Diamond League as well in order to train for the Paris Olympics. After completing his training in Germany, Chopra will head to Gloria Sports Arena in Turkiye until July 28 for his last set of training.
