Paris 2024 Olympics India Day 7 Preview: List of events, players in action, medal prediction

The seventh day of the Paris 2024 Olympics will feature several Indians in action. Badminton star Lakshya Sen can inch a step closer to winning a medal if he beats Chou Tien-chen in the men's singles quarterfinals on Friday (August 2).

The Indian men's hockey team also has a chance of strengthening its position in the Top 4 of Pool B by defeating Australia. India suffered a 1-2 defeat in their previous match against Belgium on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tulika Maan will make her Olympic debut in the women's +78kg judo category.

Speaking of the Indians in contention of winning a medal, Manu Bhaker will be in action in the 25m Pistol Women's Qualification Precision. She has already won two bronze medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and the shooter can complete a hat-trick of medals if she qualifies for the final, scheduled for Saturday.

The duo of Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara will be in action in the mixed team 1/8 elimination match of archery. If they progress, the medal rounds will happen later in the day.

Paris Olympics 2024 India Day 7 - Medal prediction

Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara have an outside chance of winning a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics today. Dhiraj produced a fantastic performance in the men's singles event of archery but lost in the shoot-off against Eric Peters.

The Indian duo will start their campaign against Indonesia's Choirunisa Diananda and Pangestu Arif. It will be interesting to see if Ankita and Dhiraj can win a medal for the country in the mixed team archery event.

The other Indian athlete who can win a medal today is judoka Tulika Maan. The women's +78kg medals will be decided today itself. Tulika will start her campaign against Cuba's Idalys Ortiz at 2.12 pm IST.
