WTT Contender Tunisia 2024: List of Indian players taking part in the tournament

Tunisia will host the WTT Contender Tunisia 2024 from June 25, 2024, to June 30, 2024. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITFF) established World Table Tennis (WTT) as an organization to host table tennis competitions.

One of the three tiers of the WTT series is the Contender. The last division, known as WTT Contender, is where professional players from all over the world rankings compete. Each year, there are 14 events that can last up to four days.

This year, there are nine WTT Contender events; the Tunisia version is the seventh. The last event in Lagos came to an end recently where India finished its campaign with nine medals, including three golds. Sreeja Akula won the WTT Contender singles title. Akula, along with partner Archana Girish Kamath, also went on to win the women's doubles title.

Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakkar also bagged a gold in the men's doubles category. The Olympic-bound duo also created history, becoming the first Indian men's pair to win a WTT Contender title.

Several Indian players will be taking part in the Tunisia event across categories. A total of 11 sessions will be held, with seven sessions being played during the key days (27 June to 30 June 2024). It will include men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. The event draws have not yet taken place.

Indian table tennis players bound for the Paris 2024 Olympics such as Sharath Kamal, Manav Thakkar, Harmeet Desai, Manika Batra, Sreeja Akula, Ayhika Mukherjee, Archana Girish Kamath, and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran are set to be a part of this tournament.

The Indian players will be keen to carry on their splendid performances from Lagos.
