Caroline Marks is an American surfing champion who is the 2023 WSL world champion and the youngest woman to compete in the World Surf League event. She is set to represent the United States team in the 2024 Paris Olympics and previously reached semifinals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.


Marks passion for surfing started at a young age of four. But it was at around the age of nine when she turned competitive. Notably, by the age of 13, Marks secured her first professional title at the Vans US Open of Surfing and made history by becoming the youngest surfer ever in the World Surf League (WSL) Championship tour event conducted at Lower Trestles.


In 2017, at the age of 15, Caroline Marks broke another record by becoming the youngest woman ever to qualify for the prestigious WSL Championship Tour. She also won her first Women's North America Qualifying Series Regional Title in the same year. The following year, she upset Stephanie Gilmore and Carissa Moore to claim her first WSL title. Remarkably, she was the youngest surfer to compete in the Olympics at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She reached the semifinals where she lost to Bianca Buitendag. Nonetheless, Marks will be looking forward to the upcoming Paris Olympics to finally turn the tide in her favour.
